Founding Principles

Acting With Bryan Chesters is a Los Angeles acting studio founded by me, Bryan Chesters. My goal in its creation is to serve all actors in all mediums of the entertainment industry. It’s my belief that well trained actors should be able to handle the demands of a given role on stage or screen. Therefore, my mission is to provide a nurturing environment to foster each actor’s creativity, while offering the necessary tools to become a successful, working actor.

I’ve been fortunate to study with some of the finest acting teachers in the country: Bobby Lewis (Founder of the Actor’s Studio & original member of the Group Theatre), Mel Shapiro, Salome Jens, Ellen Geer, Gil Cates, Jean-Louis Rodrigue, Larry Moss, Terry Schreiber, Ken Lerner, Tom Irwin, Jeff Perry, Shannon Cochran, Gar Campbell and Marilyn Fox.

I received acting awards that include scholarships from Carol Burnett, George Burns and Laura Pels and for BEST ACTOR from LA Movie Awards for my role in FORERUNNER.

Casting Directors

I interned at UDK Casting for two years where I served as audition reader and camera operator. It provided me with invaluable knowledge about what casting directors do and are looking for, how to audition and what constitutes a good audition. It also taught me that every good casting director is on the actor’s side and hopes that the actor auditioning will be the one that knocks it out of the park.

Additional Information

I live in Los Angeles where I’m a company member of the prestigious Pacific Resident Theater in Venice, CA and The Musical Theatre Guild in residence at The Alex Theatre in Glendale. I was also an original member of the Savage Players in which LA Times critic David C. Nichols praised my work in The Psychic Life of Savages at the New LA Theater Center.
